From the smell of freshly made kettle corn to the vibrant display of vegetables and flowers, the Winter Park Farmers Market is a delightful way to start your Saturday morning.
There is a nostalgic feel to the place, set behind the old railroad tracks in a rustic brick building. Families are seen lined up to pick fresh fruit and veggies, kids are anxiously awaiting to test cupcakes and popsicles, and even dogs seem happy checking out the various treats offered.
My husband and I started our day by grabbing breakfast inside the historic farmers market building. We had amazing bagel sandwiches and iced coffee. There is abundant seating under the shade to beat the heat on a hot summer day.
Other offerings inside include an impressive array of cheeses, pastries and homemade breads.
We worked our way outside and strolled through the garden area, where you can find amazing deals on palm trees, plants, potted flowers and herbs.
This Farmers market has it all. From the fresh squeezed juice stand, crepe cart, gourmet fries, veggies, fruit, honey, plants and organics, there is something for everyone. It really is a mix of old Florida treats and new, gourmet food stands. The vendors are also very friendly, which adds to the great sense of community.
If you want to step back in time and discover a great neighborhood Farmer’s Market, definitely check out Winter Park’s, which is only about 6 miles north of Downtown Orlando.
